First Stages Of Pregnancy

When you are expecting a little one soon, you may want to know what changes are occurring in your body, as well as the body of your little one.

This is because you might think something is going to happen when in fact it might be later on down the road. Prepare yourself now for the first stages of pregnancy.

In the beginning, before you may even know that you’re pregnant there will be signs that you need to be aware of.

This can include nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to smells, a missed period, tender, or swollen breasts with darkening of the nipple, and frequent urination. Although these are only a few, there are many others, and sometimes you may never get these symptoms.

Within the womb, there is a baby that is changing throughout the month. Within the second week, this is when the fertilization occurs. The sperm and egg join to make a zygote.

The zygote will then move down the fallopian tube, and into the uterus. There are two layers of cells, one that will become the protective layer for the fetus, and the other that will become the embryo.

In week four, you begin to see the beginning stages of a baby. It has formed a spinal cord, brain, and heart within its little body. It only has buds now for its limbs though.

The different layers begin to make way for the organ systems that are about to develop within your baby as well. The baby will begin to develop bones, and fill in the empty spaces within their body.

At weeks 5 and 6, the baby’s heart will begin beating. The baby is 1/17th of an inch big now. There are blood vessels that are being formed within your baby during this week.

The circulatory system is the first working organ system within your baby during this time as well. The new baby will double in size over the course of one week. Your new baby is well on its way to developing the rest of the systems throughout the rest of the short weeks ahead.
