How To Use Ovulation Tests The Right Way

Looking for the symptoms of ovulation is relatively easy. During ovulation, there are some changes that will occur in your body, so you know you are ovulating.

Some of the major ovulation symptoms include a change in vaginal secretions, slight cramping, elevated basal body temperature, and sometimes even light spotting.

It is most likely that you have experienced these symptoms, but you haven’t paid close attention to them. For most women, these changes are very subtle. For this reason, it is essential to pay close attention to what is going on in your body.

The first step to know what to look for, you have to know your body very well. For most women, this is relatively easy to do because they are naturally intuitive.

One of the first ovulation symptoms you will notice is a change in your vaginal secretions. Your cervical mucus will become thinner (almost like the consistency of raw egg whites) and there will be more of it.

2 to 3 days before ovulation, your vaginal secretions will continue to change to a more clear and slippery substance. During this time is considered the most fertile; however, the last day of this discharge is considered to be the most. The reason behind this is because this is when ovulation actually occurs.

Another one of the symptoms of ovulation is slight cramping. This pain will normally occur on the same side that you are ovulation on.

You will feel it in your lower abdomen right behind the hip bone. You can feel this either on the front side of your body, or your back.

The pain is caused by the release and movement of the unfertilized egg. For me, this pain is kind of a dull achy feeling, but for some women it can be a sharper pain. Sometimes the pain can even be accompanied with light spotting.

Libido is also one of the ovulation symptoms. Women who are fertile will normally have an increased desire to be sexual with their spouse. This is just one way that your body works to make sure a good egg isn’t wasted.

As you become more familiar with your body, you will recognize these symptoms of ovulation and it will help you determine the best time for intercourse.
